God - Liar, Child Raper.

I was talking with some friends the other night, and the subject of marriage and sex before marriage came up. I thought about the way god handled things, and then looked some scriptures up.

"Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost." ~ Matthew 1:18

Okay, so here we have Mary (being a virgin supposedly), about to be married legally and justly to a man. What does god do to further his own plans to eventually kill his own child? He swoops down from Heaven, under the guise of "the Holy Ghost," and rapes this
young woman before she gets to do things the "right" way with Joseph. So here we have, again, god doing terrible things to make his own wants and needs come to fruition. What a great guy! Also, considering the culture, we can safely assume that Mary wasn't any older than about thirteen or fourteen. Go god! I guess he lives by the rule that, "If there's grass on the field, play ball!" or "If they're old enough to bleed, then they're old enough to breed!"

In addition, I also wanted to quickly point out that all the scripture wasted on Jesus' genealogy is exactly that - a waste. Matthew 1:1 to 1:17 (among other scriptures earlier in the bible) goes through the detailed ancestry of Jesus for us. Then, in Matthew 1:18, we find out that Joseph wasn't even the father of Jesus! So there you go, a bonus for you. You also get a Biblical Contradiction article today. How? Well, this section contradicts every other scripture that claims that Joseph is Jesus' father!

I'd like to comment here quickly that a few of you have emailed me recently. I think that is great! Keep 'em coming, subscribe to the blog, and stay tuned! Also, don't forget to swing by ramatheson.com and ramatheson.blogspot.com!

He is the lord! He's allowed to rape anyone he chooses! Blasphemer!

No seriously, you do realize this whole "Mary-gets-raped-by-a-ghost" thing is just a case of bad plagiarism on the part of the ignorant and inarticulate middle eastern fellow whole awkwardly lifted this part for his bible from Zeus' M.O., right?

But see where Hercules got conceived from a union between an earth woman and a stud god who liked sex and accordingly wooed his conquests (even if it involved shape-shifting), Jesus was unfortunately the offspring of a god who couldn’t go around dating willing woman and endorsing ewww yucky sex. You see, much like Walt Disney, god’s creator couldn’t have his characters doing things he and the social norms of the times didn’t agree with. So Mary got raped…by a divine being (with super omnipotent universe creating abilities at least).

But you know what, considering that Mary was a stupid and very evil indeed woman, at the end of the day, I think she got knocked up by her boyfriend and to avoid being lynched or burned at the stake or stoned or whatever else she invented all of Christianity right there during her love child’s 9 months gestation. I mean come on, that star of Bethlehem leading the wise men to her stable…seriously, only a brainless woman wouldn’t know that a star is actually “a massive and luminous ball of plasma which burns at 5,810,000 K”. That’s hotter than the sun (which revolves around the earth).

1)To say the Holy Spirit had an passionate "breeding" session with Mary is a bit of carried away. Sure, it is strange (even for Christians) to understand. But if God made the cosmos, He can become God-in-the-flesh through any supernatural means. I know, I know...you'll say it's fairy-tale-ish. But if God indeed exists and if God is omnipotent, then this one is certainly possible.

2)Is the lineage of Jesus, listing Joseph as a father, a contradiction because you want it to be one? There are simple explanations. First, could it be that because people are known by their parents, the phrases "Jesus, the son of Joseph, the son of Mary" specifies the person spoken of? Secondly, how would it be any different from an adopted child today having two family trees: one on his natural parents' side, the other on his adopted?

Although I disagree with you, I like the challenging thoughts. I'll keep stopping by.

Anyone who knows a little about alot would tell you that the holy spirit is not male, but female! In Judaism, god manifests both male and female attributes. At the parting of the red sea - he was male. Just as the penis is visible, he made his power visible. But god is also female, like when the jews usher in the sabbath, because the sabbath is a more hidden power of god - like the vagina is hidden.
It then follows that the holy spirit, who is the silent/hidden personality of the god-head, is female. Therefore Jesus was the result same sex relationship! Definitely a first for humankind!!!!

First, the notion of a virgin birth is ridiculous to me. I live in the 21st century and do not believe in magic (in any form).

Secondly, I believe the notion of a virgin birth was concocted after Jesus death (no I don't believe in resurrection) to help establish his divinity and link him with other eastern prophets/deities who share similar births stories (Zoroaster, Mithra, Buddha, etc).

The questions of Jesus' lineage and circumstances of his birth are also suspect. To be messiah ne had to be associated with the house of King David. So, to establish this like his birth was moved to Bethlehem, the city of David, rather than Nazareth (the likely true location).

Jesus' whole life story is just that, a STORY molded to portray a specific message in order to achieve a specific goal.

Please don't patronize me with "I will pray for you." That is one of the most condescending things you could do. If it's the sin that is the problem, and not the sinner, why do people always say they will pray for the person? They should pray for the sin to go away.

sin doesnt just come by itself. a person must open doors in his or her life and allow sin to come in.

sin just doesnt go away either a person must want change in their lives and do the right thing and not place themselves into situations that may cause them to fall into sin.

Just beacuse we are in the world doesnt mean we have to be of the world.

So it is the sinner that is hated. The sinner lets the sin in.

"More posts by Christians with poor grammar that are too afraid to register and say who they are"...

I'm not one of the commentors above...but your assumption that they are afraid to say who they are is not proven... not a fact...it's your judgement...

If you are not worried about revealing who you are, and really care about what you say, why wouldn't you register? It seems that many of the xtian commentors don't register, and so I believe it to be a safe assumption.

In response to Anonymous at 9:46 AM:

Your story sounds terrible, and I wouldn't even suggest that I can understand what you've been through. But why is all of the evil God's fault? Are you arguing against the existence of God, or against the existence of a good and benevolent God? It seems to be a common theme among anti-God people that God is blame for everything bad, and the individual is to praise for everything good.
Perhaps your ex was just a wicked and vile person and is completely responsible for his own actions. Perhaps it is God that enabled you to find and recover your child. I find it odd that people would suggest that if God really did exist, He would never allow anything bad to happen. I have learned far more about God's graciousness and mercy through the troubles and wickedness of the world than I ever have through the easy times.

God created evil; he is therefore responsible for it.

I'm not sure I understand where you are coming from Mr. Matheson. Do you believe in a God, the God of the Bible whom you suppose to be evil because of your interpretation of certain biblical passages, or do you not believe in any god at all? If you are a true atheist, you must admit man created evil and is solely responsible for it. If you believe in God, then you are not an atheist. And how exactly do you suggest that God went about creating evil?

10:25 AM

So you are stating that men have created evil and not God. Well then who created men? It's like building a robot to go injure people and claiming that the creator didn't harm anyone. Perhaps not a robot though since us humans have the ability to perceive and alter our beliefs and functionality. But he has given us the capacity to do evil and in doing so has designed a trap for man to fall into. However, one could argue that it is the fault of the man if he falls into it but wouldn't it be better if there was no trap to begin with? But who am I to debate the structuring of the cosmos? I simply exist in this world that is governed by the laws of nature, and the fantastical laws created by man.

The "trap" was freedom of the will. It is paradoxical to call free will a trap, so this argument doesn't really make sense. Imagine you work at a bank. The bank manager gives you the key to the vault. This is actually a position of honor, because it shows that the manager esteems you highly. Would you thus say he has "set a trap" for you by giving you this responsibility? If you steal from the vault thus obliterating your good relationship with the bank, is it the manager's fault? Would you accuse him to his face? People who suggest God created evil are really arguing that a "loving" God should have created man with no capacity for free choices.

No wonder atheists are all screwed up in their thinking... just slightly... errrr, massively out of context and filled with error.

I thought you all were smarter then us "born-agains".
