God Hates Rabbits Just as Much as Homosexuals

We have all heard that the line touted by the Christians that "Homosexuality is an abomination to God!" I would first contend here that most of the people that use this line probably have no clue what the word abomination means. Secondly, I can guarantee that ninety-nine out of a hundred people that hear this
line, or even know where to find the actual passage in the bible, probably have no clue what it means. Let's start with the actual passage these people are referencing:

"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them." ~ Leviticus 20:13

Okay, so there it is. If a man has sex ("lies") with another man in the way that a man has sex with a woman, then both of them have committed an abomination. Well what is an abomination? If you read yesterday's piece, you will remember that knowing the original language that what you are reading was written in is of the utmost importance. In this case, as it is with the entire Old Testament, the language was Hebrew. Here, for "abomination," the word is the Hebrew word of "toevah." This word does not indicate something evil, but something that is unclean. There is a big difference there.

I would also like to point out that the word "zimah" in Hebrew would have been a much more appropriate word instead of "toevah," if the intention was to paint homosexuality as evil. The word "zimah" refers to something which is inherently evil, simply on its own; the evil is intrinsic to something labeled as "zimah."

Some Christians say that homosexuality is so bad because it is punishable by death. Well, if that is the case, then the same logic must be applied to children who disobey their parents. Any child that disobeys their parents was to be stoned to death in public, as I discussed before in this article. Obviously, Christians do not follow this rule any longer.

Let me also add here that of course contextually, it is important to know what is going on in this passage from the bible. If you go to the beginning of the twentieth chapter of Leviticus, you see that god is telling Moses to speak to the "children of Israel" (Leviticus 20:2). Any Christian that knows the most basic information about their faith can tell you that they are no longer considered children of Israel; those would be those that follow the Jewish faith, not the Christian faith. When Jesus died for the sins of the world (we'll just say he really existed for arguments sake here), he freed mankind from having to obey the law laid down in the Old Testament. So right there we can see that this does not apply to Christians today.

In addition, contextually, we must also understand that Moses was going through ways to separate and distinguish the priests of his god from the surrounding, pagan priests of the gods like Moloch that existed in the lands of Canaan. The Canaanites were the people being conquered by Moses and his people (actually slaughtered, tortured, raped, and having genocide committed against them, but that's a whole other story) during their exodus from Egypt into their new holy land. Well, it was an old holy land, that had been holy for thousands of years to the Canaanites, but as we know in god's eyes, only his own people matter. Everyone else is fodder for his genocide machine, and the genocide of the Canaanites was one of the earliest recorded examples of genocide. This part of the bible is actually pretty much a step-by-step instruction manual for genocide. I'll write about that in another article sometime.

Now, I would like to ask a few questions.

Did you shave this morning?

Have you ever gotten a haircut?

Have you eaten at Red Lobster or any other seafood restaurant lately?

What about the clothes you are wearing? Are they made of any sort of blend of materials, or are they all 100% cotton or wool? I doubt it.

Have you had a ham sandwich lately?

Have you ever had sex with a woman while she is on her period?

If you have, you are just as guilty as someone who has homosexual sex. These are all things that are considered "toevah" to god, or are punishable by death, or both.

Of course, Christians today do wear clothing of mixed cloth, they do get haircuts, they do shave, and they do eat pig and pork, and some, I am sure, have sex with their wives or girlfriends while they are menstruating. The reason for this is that they believe that Jesus set them free from the tenets of the law set down in the Pentateuch (this first five books of the bible, the "law"). This is not the case however. I shall examine this in the next article. Jesus himself stated very clearly that the law of the Old Testament is to be followed down to the last letter.

Stay tuned.

God created sin. Only a psychotic would create something they hate, and then punish its created children for going after the bad thing that the creator KNEW its children would go after.

How many times must this be said?

Well, I don't believe he created "sin", and God is the word and the word is Him.I don't believe the Bible promotes sin for one moment. I believe he created beings with the power of choice. He is a Perfect being who, with purpose, created imperfect beings. As is shown with Adam and Eve. Oh, and what's the exact story for [Lucifer]. He gave us a choice. This is why we must become loyal to Him. If we do not, then we are doomed to live not with Him, and be destroyed with the devil.

While we may have the ability to choose sin or not, the fact remains that God created it.

Anonymous- you've been proved wrong. Just accept that you're following something blindly, like a sheep. You know it, we know it, so let's just stop pretending shall we? Or am I going to be stoned to death for such ignorance?
